basement reorg progress--seating

We had a floor plan of the basement, thanks to Conor, but no actual plan for what we were going to do in the space.  Julia wanted an open area to do handstands, Conor wanted an art/drafting area, and I wanted a TV area for the kids to enjoy.  But as you can see from the space plan, there is a definite lack of, well....space!

But, thanks to a great sale, a coupon, and a $100 gift card from Grandma S., we now have a new couch (without breaking our $500 budget)!  It's the Studio day sofa from World Market.  It's usually priced at $399, but was on sale this week for $299, plus I had a coupon from our Entertainment book (orchestra fundraiser).
I had plenty of help putting it together.  In fact, it was one of the easier "assembly required" pieces we've ever done.  Below you'll see what it looks like without its cushions.

And here are the kids (and the pup) testing out their new seating!  Next project--organizing the kids' junk (oops, I mean stuff).
