why aren't there more kid's room posts?

I love my kids, I really do.  However, they have not only inherited my interest in design, but also my tendency to be a bit, well, messy.  Okay, a lot messy.  On any given day, if I took a picture of their rooms, it might be more than you could handle.  Seriously, it's like an episode of Hoarders!
You've seen little peeks of Miss J's space when we DIYed the balloon shade, featured my favourite shop, Bloomsbury Loft, and painted the vintage bedframe to add extra sleeping space, but here's the bigger picture (minus the messy bookshelf on the far wall, even I have my limits!)
Here's the fashionista herself, hanging out on her bed.  The rug hooking was done by my family when we were young (we had a black Lab), and the ballerina poster is from a family friend.
Here's a look at the quilt I made her when she turned 1.  She still sleeps with it most nights!
Here's the new bed, featuring a cool owl pillow from Bloomsbury Loft, and a vintage print from my parents.  Now, if only it could stay this (relatively) tidy!  What is the likelihood that Conor's room is neat enough to feature?  Magic 8 ball says, "not likely", but we'll see what we can do!

What's your take on kid spaces--how do you balance the need for kids to "do what they do", with a desire for good design?
