Okay, I admit it...despite having a gorgeous kitchen with amazing amounts of storage, I do secretly envy those of you who have enough wall space to have a chalkboard wall in your kitchen. Check out a few of my fav. inspirations from House Tweaking and A Beach Cottage.
Here's my take, using the fridge instead of walls (of which I have none!). They are Wallies chalkboard decals (I got them for half-price at Amazon). They come in squares, but I used my handy paper cutter to slice one to fit my space exactly. They are repositionable, too (I'm sure that's not a word, but it's a Monday, so I'm going with it.) I was originally going to put them on the closet door, but found that the texture of the painted wood did not work well for writing with chalk.
Anyone else out there using chalkboard decals in a kitchen? I think they'd be great in a kid's room, too, although they seem to work best on a smooth surface, so if your walls are bumpy like ours, you might want to try chalkboard paint instead.
