mystery holes in the floor--any guesses?

Okay, so the carpet is up, but what the heck are these holes all about?
Bragging rights for anyone who can figure out why there would be so many regularly-spaced plugged-up holes all over the floor!

  3. good guess, Kelly! it would have been great had there been hardwood underneath :)

we had always assumed there was a concrete slab directly underneath the tile, but in fact, there is a subfloor with joists and a mini-crawl space (that's not attached to the crawl space under the main house)...

and yes, the holes were made to blow in insulation! we were able to peer down one of the holes, and we're almost positive that's what the holes were for.

thanks both, for the comments, and for stopping by!
